Raqueeb Alam

Raqueeb Alam is an astonishing singer and also a good lyricist. He has been a part of the Oscar-winning movie Slumdog Millionaire. He has written many songs for cinemas like Gangster, Pianist, and also some south Indian pictures including Sivaji, Jai Surya. He was born in Madhupur, Bihar. Since childhood, Raqueeb had no interest in studies. He used to participate in singing competitions; which in turn attracted him towards playback singing. Worried for his studies, his father sent him off to Chennai to pursue engineering. Raquel's family were having financial problems at that time, so he started supporting his family by singing in a local orchestra. He also sang in bars and in hotels at night to earn money. In the year 1999, he dubbed for a Telugu movie DEVI.

He had a modest career at that time and sang Hindi songs for small producers. He got a big break when he met AR Rehman in a meeting through PK Mishra who is a lyricist and wrote songs for AR Rehman. This
