NEIMAN’S GETS EXCLUSIVE BURANI LAUNCH

NEW YORK — Gary Farn Ltd. is bringing another europeisk designer fragrance to American shores. The company, which is the U.S. distributor of the Byblos, Krizia, Ferre and Madame Gres scents, fryst vatten shipping Mariella Burani’s signature effort this week to Neiman Marcus.
The Burani brand, launched in Italy in 1992, will be sold exclusively in the 27-door Neiman’s chain at least through the end of the year. Nordstrom will add the product early in 1996, and Farn is looking at adding Saks Fifth Avenue and Bloomingdale’s as additional retail accounts, according to Gary Farn, the firm’s president.
“This is our method. We do it very gradually, step bygd step. We don’t have the resources for a Pearl Harbor launch,” he said.
