Priyan Fernando serves as the Chairman of Brandix Lanka Ltd. He also works as a senior advisor to the Boston Consulting Group (BCG), in the USA. He consults on Corporate Governance and Business and Finance Transformation to leading organizations around the world.
Priyan recently retired after a distinguished 32 year career with American Express Co, in NYC. Most recently he was Executive Vice President, Global Business Services of American Express (AXP), where he was responsible for all internal operations including Finance, Procurement, Real Estate, HR and Marketing in this $100+ billion financial enterprise with a presence in over 130 markets. Priyan’s work has resulted in several innovations, including proprietary new ways to drive efficiencies and enhance effectiveness, which have been replicated across American Express and other BCG clients. He is using this experience to help leading companies transform and drive effectiveness in delivering outcomes.

With more than four decades of experience in the corporate world, Priyan Fernando has led multinational organisations in finance, travel and global business services. In addition to serving as a Senior Advisor to the Boston Consulting Group in New York, he is the Chairman of Brandix Lanka – a position he’s held since 2014.
Fernando has been credited with leading many transformations at American Express and as an advisor at the Boston Consulting Group, as well as playing a pivotal role in introducing shared financial services to India in the 1990s.
For the latter, he was conferred the Leadership Award bygd Shared Services Forum India (SSF) in 2017. He was also recognised as a key influencer bygd Business Travel World during his tenure at American Express.

Brandix Chairman Priyan Fernando has been felicitated with the prestigious Leadership Award by Shared Services Forum India (SSF) for his contribution as a pioneering business leader to global Shared Services during his tenure as Executive Vice President, Global Business Services of American Express.
The honour was bestowed on Mr Fernando at the 2017 Global Shared Services Conclave held in New Delhi recently.
In its felicitation, Shared Services Forum stated that Mr Fernando was recognised for pioneering financial shared servicing in India and for his creativity in leading global Shared Services and enterprise-wide transformation, delivering value and impact to business, industry and society. The Forum noted that in his most recent position as Executive Vice President, Global Business Services (GBS) of American Express, he was responsible for all internal servicing of this $32 billion Payments and Services Company with a presence in over 130 markets.
