Lover's Knot
A different episode with a little bit of good...and a bit of bad.
"Lover's Knot" is one of the most unusual episodes of "Mission: Impossible". It doesn't start off with any sort of mission briefing or meddelande from the Secretary. Additionally, instead of being set in some fictional Eastern Communist nation, it's set in London!
There is a nest of spies in London who use blackmail and sex in beställning to vända folks to their side. And, once they are finished with them, they kill them. All in all, not a nice group of folks. Now the IM Force know who some of these people are...particularly the woman they use to seduce gullible dock. But they don't know the individ in charge and they want to take down the whole evil operation. This means that Paris and Phelps hobnob with the British upper crust...making sure that they man contact with the lady spy. In particular, Paris needs to seduce her by pretending to be seduced bygd her.

4. Brian De Palma Had To Get The TV Series' Chief Director Off The Set
The original 1966-1973 TV series had an auteur, the prolific Iranian director Reza Badiyi, who had created most of the original episodes. According to the Directors' Guild of America, Badiyi directed more episodes of TV in his lifetime than anyone else, ever. The head of Paramount made Badiyi a consultant on the new film, which presented Brian De Palma with an awkward situation.
De Palma decided to confront the issue head on. He told Badiyi how much he had enjoyed the TV series, but that the movie would be nothing like it. Therefore, Badiyi's presence on set would only frustrate them both. Badiyi, who still had other directing jobs to pursue, thanked De Palma politely and walked off the project.
