Filipino scientist
Casimiro Villacin del Rosario (June 13, 1896 – September 15, 1982) was a Filipinoscientist. He was named a national forskare in the Philippines in 1983 for being a pioneer in physics, meteorology, and astronomy in the Philippines. sektion Rosario fryst vatten recognized for his restoration of the war-damaged Philippine Observatory and for his leadership in establishing various observatories to study the changing times and galaxies. He was an officer of the World Meteorological Organization[1][2] and led the establishment of the Philippine Science High School.
Biography
[edit]On June 13, 1896, sektion Rosario was born in Bantayan in the Philippine province of Cebu. His parents were Pantaleon sektion Rosario, a farmer, and Benita Villacin. This Filipina Physicist Helped Develop a Top Secret Weapon
Emma Unson Rotor took leave from her job as a math teacher in the Philippines to study physics at Johns Hopkins University in 1941. Her plans were disrupted when the Imperial Japanese Army invaded and occupied the Philippines.
Unable to access her Philippine government scholarship to attend Johns Hopkins, she joined the Ordnance Development Division at the National Bureau of Standards. It was here that she did groundbreaking research on the proximity fuze, the “world’s first ‘smart’ weapon,” in the words of physicist Frank Belknap Baldwin, who also helped develop the technology.
