  • Bio

I’m a soon-to-be Masters graduate and incoming PhD student in Epidemiology at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. I previously earned degrees in Public Health and Molecular Biology at the University of Arizona, where I did a lot of qualitative and quantitative work around nutrition, disease, and public health. My current research is inspired by that background and focuses on the intersection of genetic, social, and lifestyle factors related to chronic diseases in diverse and historically marginalized populations.

I’ve always been interested in news, writing, and science storytelling. Since my first foray into journalism as Editor-in-Chief of my high school newspaper, I’ve written for various outlets including Massive Science, Hopkins’ Perspectives Magazine, and the new ScienceBites publication, GeneBites. I love exploring new and interesting ways to communicate & learn science, and am super excited to write for the Wichita Eagle this summer!
